Port Aransas is a Wildlife Refuge. We are
on the flight path from Canada and the Northern states, to Central
and South America, and have just about every type of migrating
bird passing through here. From the Great Heron to the Humming
Bird, they all spend a few weeks resting, on their way North and
South.
We have a Birding Patch available for spotting the many species
that do come through.
There are several raised platforms "Towers" that look
out onto the "flats". On one of them, you will have
to share the view with the resident Alligator. (he hasn't eaten
anybody yet!)
